I guess one of my favorites is what I used to tell my officers. It is a Wyatt Earp quote. When in a gunfight " Be slow and deliberate as fast as you can". And another is from Bill Jordon. He said in a gunfight there are only two kinds of people. " The quick and the dead".
Sarge01 - Jordan was a Border Patrol agent. The ONLY man he EVER shot was sitting in the office next to Jordan's polishing his boots. Jordan was practicing his "quick" draw and dropped his gun. The gun went off, the bullet went through the wall and hit the agent in the head, killing him instantly!
NOW, was that the only time Jordan "drew" his gun? I don't know! But it was the closest he EVER came to getting into a "gun" fight!
Make no mistake, I have seen films of Jordan in action, displaying his "shooting" skills! It was almost as brilliant as watching a film of Byron Ferguson!
