OK, I know that I like Field And Stream Better than outdoor life. Hence the Capitals. but i just wanted to know if everybody else felt that way. also I'm sure that most of us get an issue of FS each month and we crave for it every month. i just don't feel that way when i get any other outdoors magazines. just wondering about feedback.
I strongly prefer Field and Stream over Outdoor Life. The writers show greater talent, look at issues more in depth, and put together a much better read.
Outdoor life seems to cater to a more immature reader and they seem to only hit the highlights of issues.
I am waiting on my first issue of FS and I can't wait. I have picked up magazines here and there for a couple of years and finally got FS in my hands and there is no comparrison. This magazine is not only extremely helpful and well written but so is the webpage
great FS is really better
outdoor life doesnt have as much information and when they do it doesnt seem as reliable
F & S is just plain better. It's more helpful and plus your asking this on the Field and Stream website. If you went and asked outdoor life readers they would probably say...outdoor life of course.
As far as websites go I do like FS better but I'd also point out that they both have the same publishing company and they are doing some of the same things on the web. They both are good magazines and I have a subscription to both.
F&S is wayyyy better, more focused on hunting and fishing tips and good story's in F&S.
F&S! But I do enjoy getting both issues each month. One magazine might cover something the other didn't, and I enjoy that.
I do like field and stream because they have great survival stories and they provide tips to the readers every month. And they have this cool web site to entertain you.
I have to agree that F&S is much better than OL. They seem to show more interest in topics and give as much insight on a specific subject better then any other sportsmans mag. out there.
Also I really love the fact that they include so many different "everyday Joes" in thier articles and the heroes that they really are.
I've been getting F&S since the fifth grade and kept every issue but a couple, not that I'm a sophomore in high school i actually understand the words and not just the pictures anymore.
HEY!!! I'M A SOPHOMORE IN HIGH SCHOOL and i read all the articles!!!!!! And besides the website and magazine of F&S are better than OL, even though you have to admit that the websites are very similar.
Nate
i dont know never had outdoor life. Feild and Stream is the only one i trust
The websites are eerily similar. whats up with that?
Gee, everyone on the F&S site likes F&S. What a surprise. This sounds like asking a bunch of women what their favorite make-up is at a Mary Kay convention.
I read F&S as soon as it comes in the mail. I disect every article and see how I can apply it to where I am. This is a great magazine and I don't want to put it down when I start it.
F&S is the #1 hunting/fishing mag there is. They got everything you want to know in each mag and they have a kick butt websight!
I have read both before but I prefer F&S, I like the articles and the photography in the magazine is top notch.
The reason the websites look similar is because both F&S and OL are owned by the same company.
F&S is just a better magazine.
It wouldn't matter what web site you ask on...Field & Stream is
the best. I have read Outdoor Life but perhaps someone could tell me why you would suscribe to it or look forward to it month
after month.
I like what summit229 says. You should ask neutral people and just the people on f&S website.
Nate
There is a reason VT outdoorsman has 3 stars on his account. F&S and Outdoor life are owned by the same company, which offers a great opportunity. For $20 a year, you can get both, and both are worth it. What one doesn't cover, the other does. F&S is the varsity squad, but Outdoor Life is a great JV.
i love f&s but recently read an article in OL at my scholl about coyote jhunting am an now not sure wwhich to like better
McMannus vs Heavey? McMannus every time. Heavy even bows to the master.
Apart from this one exception, F&S wins out. (are they not both published by the same company?)
IM A SOPHMORE IN HIGH SCHOOL TOO!! Ive only read a few outdoor life and field and stream is way better. they are more interactive with readers by letting them contribute to the mag. the website is great and fs has better writers, stories, tips, etc.
aklund, well put.
i currently subscribe to both magazines, i do like field and stream better tho, but i still get that craving every month, and enjoy both magazines
I subscribe to both. I usually get something good from both of them, especially if there is a specific theme to an issue and I want to read about something else.
The real question is...
Lowe's or Home Depot?
used to get outdoor life and always liked the "this happened to me" . F and S has something similar, done a little differently, seems to me they didnt always have it?
I subscribe to both as well as Deer and Deer Hunting and Petersen's Bowhunting. All good reads and all help me better my outdoor skills.
I hav read both i would have to say F&S is better just for the reason that most of their articles are of high quality on OL there are a few high quality articles which i enjoy but most are just soso articles
hey im a shophmore to i get both and F&S is way better cuz they have more fishing than OL
I think F&S is much better than outdoor life and thats the reason I subscribe too it. Also, I briefly visited the outdoor life website and it seems like a copy of F&S.
I subscribe to both but Field and Stream is way better that Outdoor Life to me!!!
I've been reading them both as long as I can remember and I have to give the edge to F&S. I also subscribe to Turkey & Turkey Hunting, American Hunter and Alabama Wildlife. Lots of good information out there.
Well I have never gotten Outdoor Life but all I know is that I live on getting my monthly Field & Stream. It fuels me for the whole month. I just love every part about it.
Well, As usual I have an opposing opinion. I don't hunt whitetails, have never hunted from a tree stand, and do not consider shooting animals over bait to be sporting or even hunting. I don't fish much for crappie or bass. So, the more F&S specializes in these endeavors the less I am able to relate to the articles. Recently they swerved into the political left lane which certainly does not resonate with me. Outdoor Life on the other hand, has more articles on elk, antelope, and mule deer hunting and approaches the outdoors from a western point of view.
