Campfire
I took my two youngest sons to a nearby state game land for PA's junior Pheasant hunt. As we pulled in we saw three hens walking down the road in front of us. As I went to pull over to get the boys out another vehicle came up behind me. I told my guys hold on and we would go to the parking lot and come back to attempt to flush the birds( we don't have a bird dog) As we got out of my truck, the gentleman who followed us in got out of his vehicle with a yellow lab. He asked if we had seen the birds and I replied we had and were going to attempt a stalk and flush. He told me he was supposed to meet a friend and his son there to give his dog some work. Then he offered to use his dog so my sons could hunt over him. We went back to were we had seen the birds and started in. End result was four flushes and three birds(2 hens,1 rooster) He complimented my sons on their shooting and safety practices and said he had to go hook up with his buddy. I never got his name but I hope he may read this and know how grateful I am for his sportsmanship and generosity. Due to this stranger my boys had an experience they will remember for life and I couldn't have been prouder of my guys. B Swyers Clarion PA
