Campfire
Many of the regular contributors may remember last September I suffered some terrible 3rd degree burns saving my home from fire.Throughout my painful recovery this site and its contributors have been a great source of information and entertainment for me.Having missed out on 99% of my avaible 09' hunting seasons,I looked forward to reading daily entries from the F&S staff and online community on how their seasons progressed.
After 2 months of daily trips to the plastic surgeon for scrapings and bandage changes and 3 months of physo, Im finally strong enough to go back to work fulltime. And with Spring Salmon and Brookie season opening soon, and spring Black Bear season shortly after, I dont see myself having time to be a regular contributor any longer,at least not on a daily level.I wish you all the best of luck in your upcoming seasons, and will try to pop in from time to time to see how everyone is getting along.
Thanks,
BigJake.
Glad to hear of your Recovery BJ. Best of Luck.

Congrats on the recovery progress! Good luck out there
Nothing as healing as being in the outdoors. Keep in touch.
It's good that you are able to be active again, and I'm sorry that you had to travel such a stretch of bad road this past year.
Excellent news, look forward to your updates big jake.
I'm glad to hear the recovery process is nearing the end. Good luck this season and look forward to having you back.
Wow, honestly I had no idea that this happened! I'm glad to hear your recovering and I know from experience what 3rd degree burns are like. NOT FUN! So as stated above, we look forward to your next post whenever that's going to be. And good luck hunting and fishing!
Good luck in your recovery
Wow! Did't know that happened. Glad to hear you are on the mend. Best of luck to you... have enjoyed your posts.
Thanks so much for all the well wishes guys, they are greatly appreciated. It feels so good to be back to work and to be back in control of my family's finiancial well being.I havent been online at all lately, been far too busy puttting in almost 85 hours a week at work.Im still patiently waiting for our brookie opener in less than a month, and with the new digitial camera I just bought my wife, hopefully I'll have pics of some nice northern Brook trout to share with you all.
BigJake for you be talking about Spring Salmon, obvious your not close. If you were, I'd take you out to Jacks place!
Just checking in guys, caught only 2 small brookies so far(1 10" the other 12")but this morning I caught and managed to land a 29" 16lb atlantic salmon buck,on my 5' ultralight spooled with 6lb mono.I was casting a 2" gold crocodile spoon for brookies when it struck. It took me around 15 minutes to get it to shore were an other nearby angler tailed it for me.I reached into my fishing bag and realized that my new digitial camera was still sitting on the kitchen table at home.we took a quick measurement and released the fish.
hey glad to hear your finally gettin better and hope youll have a great season. keep in touch, we all enjoy your posts and experiences.
