Shed Hunting

Uploaded on January 31, 2009

You are walking through the woods when you see off in the distance something that looks like the skeletal remains of a deer. As you approach, you notice that it is only one bone, more specifically an antler from a buck you were just hunting this past fall. Are there more? Is the other side around? When did he drop this?

Share stories of sheds you've found, plan to find or anything else about shed hunting.

i have found alot of sheds and the best way i have found is to have the sun to your back just after the snow melts the anlters are shiny when they are wet and the sun gives them a glare and makes them easy to see

The first time out for elk I was hunting a small hill and found a match pair of 6x6 sheds under a tree. I suspect that someone found them the year before and left them there. I also took home 3 unmatched deer sheds that year, it was great.
