The best part of deer deason ids going back out and scouting spending time in the woods with family and fiends, sharing old stories and making new ones! Harvesting a animal is only icing on the cake
Looking forward to a trip to Ohio to bowhunt the rut. Hunting with a few guys i've never hunted with before, should be fun. I am not shooting a small buck, i'd rather get skunked!
Looking forward to a few things this year...
1st year hunting with a muzzleloader. Gets me out a month and a half earlier than I would for rifle.
December rifle season. Most of the 2 weeks will be spent in the woods. Definitely looking forward to getting back to camp with everyone, and spending time in the woods is really a good way to "recharge the batteries".
This year will be extra special because my first child is due later in December, so being able to unwind before the little girl arrives and all of the madness begins is going to be wonderful.
Meat in the freezer would be nice too.
congrats on the kid, zimmy8851!!!you gonna teach her to hunt when shes old enough?:) yeah, I cant wait to get out and relax in the woods.
This year is going to be amazing because im returning home from a second tour in iraq. I'm coming home right at the begining of hunting season in iowa, and im coming home to my little boy born a few days after i left. I'm excited to get home and hunt and fish and start showing my son the great outdoors like my and grandpa did for me. Also this will be the fist year my wife goes out into the feild with me to try her hand at phesant hunting. Only 16 days till im outa the sand and back where i belong out in the woods or on river fishing. Thanks for reading wish me luck
camping in the national forest and hunting with my girls/children.
I'm looking forward to some goodtimes with my boys.
Hanging out with my father and brother in law, they are doing a great job of teaching me and my sons about hunting. Cant wait!!
In addition to all the good stuff that goes with hunting camp, I'm looking forward to being able to get into the woods without the danger of being snake bit, bug bit, inflicted with poison ivy or dehydration from the heat. Being outdoors is vastly more enjoyable in the fall.
Im looking forward to next season because I was severly burned in a house fire 3 weeks, and am not going to get much hunting in this year.
Hang in there Jake, there's always next year. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
thanks steve, Im some gratiful that we managed to save the house.I never thought I'd actually wish to live in town so the fire dept could of got here sooner. It was pretty well extinguished by the time they showed
Fire spreads VERY quickly. Glads you could save the house and were able to extinguish it. Be careful with those burns.
hate what happened to your house, jake. Hope you get better and everything gets sorted out soon.

thanks bamaoutdoors, its been a running joke with my hunting friends lately that the local bear population started the fire to keep me outta my stand this fall....Im not sure on that, but I'll be waiting for them come springtime.
teach ol smokey a lesson, jake!
Very sorry to hear of your misfortune, bigjake, and hope you come through it O.K.
sorry that happened to you bigjake,i sometimes rarely get on the web site and didnt know untill now,get well soon.
get out there, and make new memories, creat new stories, and tell old worn out jokes. i always look forward to seeing family, sitting out in the cold and waiting for the thrill of the hunt.
I am looking forward to the family traditions and bonding more than anything. Everything after that is just gravey
Looking forward to shooting a buck now that i have a doe in the freezer. The family and friendly interaction is a big part of it too.
hope all of yall get a good deer. I really hope I get a shot at one myself.
I'm ready to get home from college and get out in the field. I only got to go out opening morning and I'm itchin' to get back out there. There is a big boy we've been watching at my place and the boys have had their opportunity to get him a couple of times but didn't. so i guess it's time for me to go home and show them how it's done... again.
