What's your favorite fishing spot?

Uploaded on March 08, 2009

What is your favorite fishing spot? Is it a lake, river, or stream. I live in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and my favorite spot is Bruno Bay. It is filled with some really big northern pike, and largemouths. It's so close to a county park that I can't belive no one else fishes there.

Mine is a small creek that has a really deep spot that we call the Honey Hole. We catch bass and bream and if we don't catch anything we just go swimming.

A little eddy beneath a big bluff on the Osage Fork. I catch 16+ inch smallmouth there fairly consistently.

For close by waters I'm going with the Current River in Missouri. Excellent spring creek style fishing for rainbow and brown trout for the first twenty miles, and great smallmouth fishing below there.

But my true favorite is the Yampa River in northwestern Colorado. There just aren't many places where you can catch a football sized rainbow, a big northern pike, and a hog smallmouth bass out of the same hole. The middle Yampa River is one of those places.

I like how very few including mine, and no one will ever be able to go to. They are such finite spots, alot better than the "50 Best fishing spots" because they mean something different to each of us. Keep Them Comming!

My favorite fishing spots are a few little creeks in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Acid rain has hurt the trout fishing in these creeks, but with alittle patience, you can still nail some keepers.

I would say my favorite fishing spot is probably Lewis Lake in Yellowstone. The fishing is excellent, there's almost no one there and the scenery is crazy:

Probably my favorite campground as well, and not too far from Grand Teton.

My personal favorite is on the south fork of the cherry river in richwood,wv. I have this hole called my "secret hole" but there's nothing really secret about it. The only thing secret about it is you can't see it from the road. If somebody walks the river they'd find it easily lol. But i'll just keep tellin myself nobody fishes it. haha

I like choccolocco creek down in anniston. I catch good size bass and brim, plus some unbelievably HHHHHHUUUUUUUGGGGGGEEEEEEE catfish and carp. We got gar too. I was out flyfishing one on a log, looked down and saw a gold carp that was at least 70 lbs. I swear to God I am not exaggerating. It was the biggest fish I have ever seen outside of the aquarium in tennessee that was a freshwater fish. he stayed within a few feet of me then sluggishly swam off. Ive also had 4-5 ft gar swim right up to me. Ive got some wild stories from that creek.

On the potomac river VA side around WOODBRIDGE/FAIRFAX there is a public dock that has great fishing for everything with the right bait.which is large minnows cut in half and threaded on a large hook. 4oz slip sinker with a bead between sinker and barrel swivel 18 to 24 inch leader with 8/0 GAMAKATSU OCTOPUS CIRCLE HOOK..Most people know the spot to be a catfish hole and it is, catching 30 to 40 fish on a good day.size ranging from 2or3 pounds to 15 to 20pounds.but the minnows are key because everything loves minnows, big ones.I have caught largemouth bass many 4 to 5 pounds, stripers in the same wieght class and sevral garr and one huge garr 40+ inches and 17 pounds.measuring tape/scales only whent to 36 inches. It has got to be one of the best spots I know period.....the water is shallow and there are some obstructions the bass and garr seem to like..the cats and stripers seem to come from out towards the channel but the spot is pure gold ...most people that show up like to use chicken livers or shrimp..AND THATS FINE FOR CATS BUT THE LARGE MINNOWS A THE GOOD STUFF....GLASSMAN73

The Laguna Madre and Baffin Bay, between Corpus christi and Brownsville. Flounder, Redfish, Snook and Speakled Trout all can be caught most trips. For me pulling up to a spoil bank in this area then anchoring an hour before daylight to wade fish the flats is pure fishing heaven.
