Who wants to hear some BS?

Uploaded on April 14, 2013

Hey everyone,

So here is a BS story I just heard about. I live in what is considered a city, however it is a glorified town that use to be all farm land. Anyways a few years back one of the last farmers donated 100 acres of his old farmland to the city. The farmer was quoted in the paper talking about how he wanted the land hunted and about his fond memories shooting deer with his family. The city just decided they are banding hunting in these woods, so it can be preserved for walkers, hikers, and bikers. Meanwhile, hunters have been hunting this land for years with no issues. I can only imagine the farmer and his family are outraged by this.

The second issue I heard about was the city decided to outlaw the hanging of deer. Apparently someone took offense to seeing a deer gutted and hung and complained. Now the entire city is no longer allowing this. Saying it is offensive to non-hunters and ruins the look of the city. Meanwhile I drive to the city portion of the town and see other nations flags hung above the American flag, which offends me! I know this is only one city, but how is it legal and fair to strip Americans of their right to hunt and eat game meats. One hunter was quoted in the paper saying he can’t afford to have some professionally butcher his meat and he relayed on venison meat to feed his family, but now he’ll have to pay money to have his deer process elsewhere.

That's too bad...a sign of the times, I guess. I can remember, back when I was a kid (60+ yrs. ago), driving around town with my Dad to see who had a deer hanging. We'd stop and get the hunting stories for many of them. Maybe your "city fathers" and all the anti's should be required to tour the nearest commercial slaughter house. That might change their perspective!

Killing wild game is a lot more humane and healthier eating than livestock that are raised today in huge factories.

I know. It's a shame. Wait till a few people get hurt or killed plowing into seers with their motorcycles or cars.

Even though this new town ordinance doesn't effect directly it is just pissing me off. Lucky I do most of my deer hunting on a family farm and I get to hang them there. But I pay good money in property taxes for a small house and less then .40 acres of land. I should be able to so whatever I want on my property as long as the state and federal law makers don't say it's a crime. There are many things that offend me with today's society yet nothing gets down about that.

My number one priority would be getting the American flag into it's proper position on the top of that flag pole. No flag flies above the Stars and Stripes in this Country.

Yea, but if a town said take down or raise up that American flag so it's higher, there would be law suits. It's a shame, howeveryone plays by their own rules but that's the new friendlier America!

One of the problems we have as a society is an almost complete disconnection from our food source. This is at the heart of the problem in your city. As a whole Americans see food as something that comes in nice, supposedly sanitary packing from some supermarket owned by a mega corporation. Most people don't realize the realities. It's a hard, dirty, sometimes bloody process that brings food to your table. When "we" have a problem with seeing this process first hand, then "we" have a problem.

I think this is why it's so important to grow a garden, raise a few chickens, or take your kids hunting and fishing. We can't afford to turn it all over to factory farms and live in the fantasy world of the mega market where all is clean and perfect.

I couldn't agree more. But, people in a "city" just have a different outlook. It is a shame. What pissed me off even more is I took a hike out in those woods. I saw 2 deer stands and a old home made duck blind that was falling apart. Around the stands there was no litter what so ever. Around the duck blind was a couple of shells and the blind itself contained a few nails, but was made from logs and mostly tied together. Then walking out I took the main running and biking trails. I saw countless water and Gaterade bottles, proien bar wrappers, bike parts, beer cans, and a bunch of other assorted trash. It annoyed me to think how clean and pure hunting is, yet it's getting band. While this hikers and bikers trash it.
