Your Obituary Notice!

Uploaded on March 17, 2010

I talked with a friend on Field & Stream just the other day about their ill father. It brought back memories of my own father passing away ... he wound up on the wrong end of a shotgun.

I also have had several dear and close friends and relatives pass away in the last couple of years, and when I read their obituary, I wondered what they, themselves, would've wanted to say, in their own words, to the friends and relatives left behind.

If you had the chance to write your own obituary how would it read?
What would you want to say?

Have at it and write your own obituary!

Well 2Poppa this could get good. My main concern would be my sons opinion of me. Lets premise this by saying Im havin an adult beverage or 3!LOL Im 43yrs old so hopefully I have a few more years to think about it, I hope. I would say to the ones I loved that they loved me as much as I loved them. I always tried to do the right thing. Didnt always work out as such but I tried. To the ones I didnt care for so much, hope they bury me face down so they can kiss my dead ass!! How could you not see that coming?! LMAO

Buckhunter passed at the age of 95. His life cut short by a jealous husband with a shotgun. He never missed the opening day of deer season and beer never lasted long in his refrigerator. He didn't have many friends in fear they would find out his favorite hunting spot. He was a loving husband and father (when deer was not in season)and a hard worker(LMAO). He leaves behind a daughter, two sons and 24 deer mounts. In lieu of flowers please sprinkle doe pee on his grave because if it's a big buck, buckhunter will get it.

GERG-
That was funny!
I'm with you on your sons opinion and the adult beverage! To the ones I don't care for ... I hope I find someway to change my opinion about them before I succumb to the deep six.

Passed at 95? ... and died by a jealous husband?
Ohh, that's funny, can't stop laughing! You must have had a smile on your face!
I'm diggin' it all the way ... especially the sprinkling of the doe pee! Great creativity!
24 deer mounts? I have 1/4th the mounts you do!

Alright, any more obituary writers out there?

Well this post hits pretty close to home as we just visited the funeral home last week to make arrangements for my dad's funeral. The obituary came up and they ask many questions, family members, organizations that he belonged to, time in the military, etc.
Well, I don't belong to any organizations, didn't service in the military and the family members are easy to list. Guess mine would be pretty simple............she
Lived, Laughed and Loved...to kill s@#%.
My picture would have to be with me over a dead animal as my sister has always said that I don't smile any bigger than when I am standing or kneeling over a dead animal.

i would want something catchy, something that no one could forget.....

I once was here,
But now I'm not.
I went away,
Because I got shot.
Now I'm in heaven,
But please dont' cry.
Just always remember,
So is the other guy.
So when your at home,
And your missing me.
Look to the hills,
And thats where I'll be.
