I used 12ga rifled slug out of a smooth bore shotgun and have done just fine. for 20 vs. 12 they should be about the same for accuracy and killing power with in 75 yds.

Browning BPS 12 guage. Smoothbore but fairly accurate to 100yds. with remington Sluggers.

I use rifled slugs also in my smoothbore. i know there accurate at 55 yards because i shot a small buck with my mossberg that has iron sights 3 weeks ago.

i use a remington 870 12ga. rifled barrel with whatever slug i can find... everything shoots pretty accurate out to 100 yards. however, i do prefer the cheap breanake ko's. they're cheap, accurate, and have knock down power.

I have used a 20 ga remington 1100 with a hastings rifled slug barrel, no scope. Awesome groups even at 100 yards. Shot a deer at 130 yards once the rest have been under 50 yards. I have killed all of my Ohio deer with it and would use that or a remington 870 in 20 guage with same barrel.

I use an old Ted Williams 12ga. I am looking at an new shot gun because the section I live in is shot only and will add more days in the field for me. I am thinking a 870.

I use a 12 gauge rifled slug out of a smoothbore shotgun. It has served me well on my Iowa deer hunts. If at all possible, I would highly suggest that you put a variable power scope along with a good and strong set of bases and rings on your shotgun. Know where your shotgun is shooting from 25 to 100 yards. A scope your your shotgun will help with accurate shot placement.
