Spring lake in scott county is ok and fish lake in scott county is also a pretty good lake. Minnetonka is a little big but is a good lake for all species. Prior Lake is ok if you get tips from a bait shop near there or fish by sandy point beach.

I agree i live in the metro and Spring is a good lake. If you want to try a big lake you should try waconia but that is a big lake for a conoe. Use shad raps or thundersticks for cranks, or a jig or lindy rig with a leech minnow or crawler.

I think a canoe could handle prior on a weekday, not a weekend, it gets busy on weekends. Rivers just try any structure with current. And places where you see bait fish.
