What is your best hunt ever?
How big is your biggest Gobbler?
what is your most memorable hunt ever?
Lets see who can out do the other....let the stories begin!
My most memorable turkey hunt would be the first time I got a turkey all those years ago. I shot the tom in an open field and he started to flop down this hill, my father jumped up and tackled the turkey trying to avoid the spures and went tumblin down the hill with it. I just sat there laughing as hard as I could. Finally it died at the bottom of the hill with my father sitting next to it.
Learn the mouth call to keep your hands free they all say. I did although it did tickle the roof of my mouth for awile.Learn to roost them at night using locator calls, that way you can get close in the morning. Go sit early, in the dark. Wait for the first few roost gobbles, then yelp softly to see which gobbler sounds off the closest. Wait approximately 2 min. for the gobbler to run up to you from 200yrds away, gobbling his head off. Shoot your first gobbler at 40 yrds. Watch him flop around as your buddy runs up to tackle him. Laugh and high five each other quickly. Move about 100yrds and softly call again. Wait 2 more min. and watch 5 gobblers fight each other to see who can get to you faster. Watch you buddy shoot the lead gobbler then proceed to chase it, on foot, 100 yrds across the field and into the woods. Decoys and calls flyin out of his vest as he goes. Laugh some more as he comes from the woods with a bird held up in exasperation. High five each other some more, then go bragg to your buddies about how you got 2 birds by 6:30. Proceed to be addicted to turkey hunting for life.

I killed my first turkey this year. It had a 9 inch beard and a 5 inch beard. Hoping to get another one next year.
