Bass Fishing
I just wanted to post a "good guy" story about fishing access to private property.
I live in the very north of Utah and in the little valley here there is a big hydroelectric project which creates Cutler Reservoir. The dam, lake, wetlands and a large section of the Bear River are owned by Rocky Mountain Power.
Legally, Rocky Mountain Power can close it all off- string fences, post signs, etc. Instead, they created several access points for fishermen, water-fowlers and other water rec. activities. There are four boat ramps with parking, picnic areas, a nature trail, improved fishing bridge, bike trail and canoe trail.
And it is all open to the public for FREE!!!! No charge- you can just drive in, park and start fishing.
They work closely with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to keep the water well stocked with crappie, bluegill, large mouth bass, channel catfish, bullhead catfish and walleye.
That is a great story, good to see they are taking care of the public and giving you access to water.
Its nice to hear some good news out of the sportsmen world!
Good for them. Their PR department is doing a good job.
Cool, thats what we need, and most often the land right off the rivers and streams is public, just depends on where you are.
you are lucky to have such easy accses to a body of water that has fish in it.
