For largemouth bass I am partial to soft plastics, my favorite is a texas rigged creme or zoom worm. Also topwater baits are great.

For smallmouths I am a big fan of using grubs on a small jighead or tubes, usually a 4" works best for me.

for smallmouth i use a twister tail and a spinner or occasionally a floating rapala. for largemouth I will use a top water popper, tube jig or a weedless frog.

I catch most my bass on a plastic worm, texas rigged. The most fun way to catch them is on a buzz bait.

Not being a bass fisherman said, what do you need a boat that will do 75 mph? I can see the bass boat being a asset for a good fish but the huge motor with gas being this summer 3.50 to 4.00 bucks a gallon. If it is just to get to the best part of the lake first than make a rule to limit the horsepower to 25 or less. Please explain.
