Build a better crappie structure

Uploaded on February 06, 2009

To avoid the snags and hassel with sinking xmas trees and brush to attract crappies we build our own structure. Take a 4x4 piece of plywood and drill some holes in it (makes sinking easier), screw 1"x2"x4' sticks of lumber vertically on it, use as many as you like. Strap cement block on it and sink in favorite location. The crappie will congregate inside it just like tree stumps or bridge pilings and there's nothing to get hung up on.

buck hunter 17,
Your not polluting anything more than with treated xmas trees etc., next time I'm thinking of using PVC pipe for vertical structure only because it lasts longer.
Where did you get the idea of pollution? Do you think cement or rusting steel bridge pilings are better, do you fish at all?
