Don't Let Your Torn Cast Net Go To Waste.

Uploaded on April 06, 2009

If your cast net gets caught up on some rocks or other submerged debris, and you end up shredding it beyond repair, all is not lost. Salvage the weights on the bottom. They usually weigh about 1 ounce and work just as an egg weight on an in-line catfish or striper rig.

I recently did this exact thing, I had 4 old nets sitting around and I just salvaged all of the weights. They are great to use when river fishing for big cats, I get snagged and lots of weights are lost so this is a great way to save a little money.
