Fishing

Flies for Yellowstone

Uploaded on September 11, 2012

I am headed to yellowstone NP soon...any fly suggestions?
I do quite a bit of flats fishing for bonefish in the Florida Keys website- threebone com - It explains how to catch bonefish on your own, by roadside wading. I also have photos ...bonefish... trout and Salmon from Alaska too. Learn to bonefish...enjoy!

Try strippin a Crazy Charlie through a run. You just might be the next Yellowstone guru.

You can beat trial and error all to heck if you are a good fly angler. Called observation. You walk down near the river, and observe what they are feeding on. If you can not, you can at least eliminate what they are not feeding on. The process of elimination goes a long way to being successful. Water temp., time of day, weather, all play a part in what fly to choose. It is the unknowlegeable bait angler that walks down and "flings'er out there."

I found that cured Alaskan Salmon eggs worked best, at any time during the day. Trout can't resist them, eliminating wasting time.

Don't work very well on the Yellowstone because they lock you up if you use salmon eggs.
