Sure did like my set up today...A number #22 BWO dry fly in a shallow water riffle, and one big cutthroat after another, and a good sized brown.
Used a 6 ft rod with a furled leader with 5x tippet attached. One of the best days I've had on the SF of the Snake this season.

Furled leaders cost quite a bit..maybe $7 or slightly more for a furled leader. I forget the material used now..a nylon material?, small diameter, and not clear, a fabric you can see. A fellow I know built a small machine, that will take the strands, or several strands of the material?.. and twist it and at the end there is a very small, silver ring twisted in that you attach your tippet to. So the main body of your leader is this very flexible, not as stiff as mono leader, and then you just attach say 3ft of your tippet to it, and the leader lasts, and lasts. You just have to redue your tippet in time....UNTIL, you catch a fly in the furled leader with an errant cast! The leader is then toast! I used it on my small, lt rod for shorter casting, and using small flies, and liked it. But on my bigger rods, say 5 wt and up, I don't like it. I punch out longer casts at times on those rods, and the leader is to flimsy, and doesn't support my maybe bigger flies, and more aggressive casts. It does lay nice and limp when on the water helping to give you a drag free float.
