Fly Swap II Streamer Mania!!

Uploaded on March 02, 2009

I have tallied up the votes and it looks like Streamers will be the theme for Fly Swap II.

Remember, this is not a beauty contest. We welcome beginners and experts a like. I will say though that the flies I have rec'd so far looks like a Miss America Pageant for flies on my kitchen table.

I have 5 posters who have pre-registered from the prior swap.

buckhunter
sportsman matt
kjflorian
alex pernice
flyfishermanj

Please drop a quick note to confirm that you are still in.
Others please just register by posting a quick note. I would like to limit the swap to the first 12 posters.
Please have your streamers to me by 3/31.

I will post when I get your flies. Please remember that I need a self address package to return your flies in.
DO NOT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY OVERNIGHTING THE FLIES. If I get your flies after the others have been mailed I will simply include them into the next swap. Postage in the U.S. has averaged less than $1.50 one way.

Mail flies to:
Jeff Kreager
3114 Martinsburg Rd
Newark OH 43055
jeffkreager@gmail.com

I'm tying a yellow bucktail. It's the fly I caught my first fish with off a flyrod. 3 lb smallmouth (1979).

I'm in, was thinking of a Mickey Finn tied clouser style. Did very well last year with a similiar fly.

I forgot that we may have new posters aboard so it might help if I explain what a fly swap is.

You will tie a dozen flies and give one fly to each member of the swap. In return you will receive one fly from each of the other people in the swap. To get this done you will mail your flies me with a self-addressed-stamped-package where I can return the new flies to you.

It's not that difficult and if you live in the US then shipping and packaging should cost around $5 total.

Disclaimer: I'm sure the on-line editors wish to remind us all that this swap is not part of the F&S website and should be entered at your own risk.

I'm in. Got my flies from the first swap....thanks to everybody that participated, I look forward to trying them out. Actually, I hit the river today and hooked one Steelhead, it's only going to get better the next couple of weeks.

I haven't rec'd a whole lot of response. We'll keep plugging away and if there is only 6 guys then there's only 6 guys. I can round up some local guys here to get involved but I'd rather be spread throughout the country.

Buckhunter. I'll throw my hat in on this. No expensive shipping this time, I promise. I'll hit the vise and have them in the mail before long.

Buck, sorry, I'm not in on this one, just lost two boxes of flys (of my three total) to revenge from an evil brother... I don't have the flys I was planning on sending, sorry bud.

We might be short a few guys but I say let's go for it.

Anybody who wants to jump in there are still openings.

I'll be in Las Vegas at the end of the month and won't be back until end of first week in April so I'll plan on mailing them out after that.

Don't worry I have a house sitter who will get all the mail.

Not much of a turn out. I'll wait till this weekend is over and mail them on Monday. This will be the last swap until next winter. I figure guys are busy fishing right now.

Guys,

Sorry for the let-down! I have the flies tied and ready to go, they where sitting on my tying bench @ work, no problem. Problem, I haven't been to work since the 17th of March. I got the flies from a co-worker yesterday and will send them out on Monday if you still want them. What was the final tally anyways?

The work issue still isn't resolved(it's a lot of BS!!!), so I've been occupied trying to get things right or I would have posted sooner. Again, I'm sorry!!

I haven't been on this site much lately. Did you get my streamers and when or did you send them out?

Just happen to think about it today, figured I would follow up. Let me know if you need anything, I will try to check this site periodically to follow up.

Thanks

Sorry for the late follow up guys. We didn't get a big turn out so I had some of the local guys I know tie some up. Between doing my taxes and chasing down flies I've finally got a good assortment together. Your flies are in todays mail. Sorry for the tardiness but I think you will like what you get.
