Mitchell/Garcia330 w/7' Ugly Stick

Uploaded on March 05, 2013

I have a Mitchell/Garcia 330. Recently had to replace my old rod. I wanted to get a Rhino, but the reel wouldn't fit in the seat. The base is too long and too thick. I found a 7" Ugly Stick that has a large enough seat.
My question is: Is this a good rod? Are there any other options? Thanx for any help

I'm a fly guy, but sure sold a lot of ugly sticks in my day. I like'um. You could go better if lightness was a concern, but they are durable for sure, and I like the fact you see your tip better with an Ugly Stick than other rods. The biggest factor in strike detection is the sight of your tip, not the fact the rod is so sensitive. And I liked the action of them. Good rod at the price.
