Chicken Liver Scents for more cats

Uploaded on January 29, 2009

A lot of people who catfish use chicken live for bait, it's easily accessible and relatively cheap. The drawback is that it falls of the hook easily and can be very messy at times.

I take my liver and season it with several different scents to add something extra to the bait and to improve the toughness of the liver, it will stay on the hook longer and it seems to attract more fish when the the bite is tough.

Take the liver and place it in a ziplock back and scent with cinnamon, garlic salt, or onion salt. Then seal the bag and really shake it up to coat the liver. Leave the bait in the refrigerator over night so all of the scent is soaked into the liver, the powder will be on the outside of the liver and it will toughen it up so it stays on the hook longer.

Another trick is to take the seasoned liver and set the bag out in the sun for a few hours and let the liver become elastic like, it will begin to dry out, but as soon as it hits the water it begins to soften up a little.

For those of you that enjoy fishing with liver give these simmplet tips a try and see if it improves your experience with the liver.

I fish with liver alot. I'll give the scents a try. My guess is the garlic would be the best of the bunch.
