Going To Florida in a few days

Hey guys, I live on the north east coast of Long Island New York. I'm an avid surf fisherman and have put some real numbers on some good stripers but I'm as clueless as they come to the south. In a few days I leave for Juipiter Florida and plan of fishing a ton while I'm there visiting a friend. Any suggestions on what to expect or what types of areas will hold fish would be greatly appreciated. We plan on fishing from a party boat for a day or two but I'm a surf guy down to my core, so you can bet most of my outings will be spent searching local waters by foot. I'm not getting species specific being that it's the first time I'm ever visiting the state, but I would like to find a bite somewhere and hook up with some cool fish if possible. Any advise on lures or areas to look for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and tight lines to all!!
