Saltwater
As the title explains I want to try fishing from the beach. I go for a week to 2 weeks every summer and would like any tips possible. I usually go to mrytle beach or outter banks. Ive fished since I was 3 and dont see why Ive been to the beach so much and hardly caught anything since ive never tried. I want to catch things like barracudas or mackeral or maybe snook but my main goal is shark. Id feel privileged to fight the king of the ocean! please any surf tips you have plz share!
1o-12 ft surf rods are best, make sure to use a wire leader. i always use jugs and tape the lid to it to keep the water from getting in it, use the jug as a huge cork, this will help float it out past the breakers and you can see when something hits the mullet for shark and large menhaden for kings, live of course. As for the snook & barrcuda you wont find them at OBX. I like going down south towards Ocracoke, that way i can drive on the beach and fish right out of the back of my truck. Let me know if you have any more qestions i love to help other fisherman.
