Live eels if possible. About 10 inches long. They call live eel striper candy! Hook them through the bottom jaw, you push the hook as deep as you can into the mouth, sharp part down and then pull it through the bottom of the jaw. The eels live and move around in distress and Stripers can't ignore it!

If the mackerel are there they are your best bet. Bring a sabiki rig with you. jig some and put them in a livewell. Want to make sure you will get hit? either clip the bottom of the tail with scissors so it can't go upwards or make a little cut in the belly, just slightly, and hold on!
