The Tip Board
All you need is a small zip-strip and a slit ring. Slide the ring on the zip-strip and tie it tightly around the base of the cork above the reel. Now you have a place to hook your lure's hooks instead of on the eyelets.

Good idea I'll have to try it on my rod!
Hold on. If you put it at the base of you're foregrip, and thats where you put your hand, wont you get hooked???
Put it at the base of the cork ABOVE the reel. This way, the hook will stay above the reel and out of the way of your grip
Seeing as many people hold the rod by that grip, good way to get hooked.
Alex if your fishing you won't get hooked because your hook is in the water
on a spinning reel you can put the hook on the bail
