Trout Fishing
I was reminded of something Friday. My son, brother-in-law, and I took a day off and went trout fishing. It rained enough that I was afraid to get my camera out for any pictures for fear of ruining it, but the fishing was good, the compay was good, we visited some beautiful country, and it was a shining day. Flowing water is good for the soul, and I came home refreshed and ready to head out again, regardless of the rain. It's not about the creel limit, it's about the experience. Good fishing, my friends.
Rivers make good music, don't they? Sounds like a good day, thanks for sharing that and I wish you many more.
I believe it was the Cherokee who "went to water" when they needed healing. I think I need some of that medicine.
I definately needed it last Friday and found what I needed. I wish you many more as well. Thanks.
A plus for fly fishing. Those that advance from spin fishing to fly fishing most often develop the whole package. They've developed the ability to enjoy the moment, look around, and take in their surroundings, and experience things other than just the tug at the end of their line.
Amen, Sayfu. A lot of folks who would not understand would say that that's just a way of compensating for an unsuccessful day. I beg to differ.
A day in nature is one of the best gifts we still maintain. And while it is shrinking around us, we need to get out there and enjoy as much as we can! That is more therapeutic, than any prescription that has ever been written!
fishing in the rain is one of my favorite things to do...doesn't matter if i catch fish, it's just peaceful and relaxing to fish in the rain...the harder the better
I had to stop fishing in the rain a few years ago. Everytime I do it I get a sore throat or the flu. I used to enjoy it though.
I never keep a creel limit...We have a grocery store in my town. And I know a guy on these threads that doesn't have the good sense to come in out of the rain. And I shouldn't knock folks that keep fish in kill fishery waters. Just don't like to fish them for the type of folks that generally fish them, and the often crowded conditions, and smaller fish that don't fight as hard as bigger, native fish.
I fished in northern michigan two weekends ago and although the fish werent biting it was still a great day on the water. Ive had some of my best days fishing when it was raining.
I enjoy fishing in the rain. Something about being on the stream when it's raining gives me that feeling of being one with nature. Also, some of my biggest fish including my largest brown trout came from fishing in the rain.
flytiefish....rain, cold, has nothing to do with getting the flu....and that is a fact. Especially if you are a normal, healthy person.
Sayfu.....explain your coment "kill fishery waters". I will be fishing for walleye real soon. One of the spots I have identified is crowded with a lot of bank fishing. Spawning walleye return to this spot each spring.
