Getting around to a good fishing hole

I have done most of my fishing in the mountain streams for trout. I would always like to go places where nobody else could get to because you can pull out trout at 10 am without any trouble. I packed along a grappling hook to get town steep slopes and such. Instead of using the hook to grab, I would tie off the loose end and use the hook as a weight to get downhill. It has come in handy more than once.
