For the wallhangers I fish for no spoon is too big. The trout I fish for are vicious, tenacious, and they hit with reckless abandon!

I dunno, it all depends on the type, and size of trout you fish for, and where. My river has Brown Trout up to 30" long, and would attack a huge spoon.
