1.Poor out the Mountain Dew and leave about 1/4" of dew in the bottle.
2.Add a tiny bit of baking soda.
3.Than add 3 caps of peroxide
4.Shake well and now you have instant light.

I have a flashlight that runs of stored solar energy and has a battery back up just in case. it comes with a lanyard and I hang it from my backpack bungeed so the solar cells stay exposed always insuring a full charge.

I've long though my kids could see in the dark after consuming the "bedtime snack" of Mountian Dew and Skittles, now the chemistry comes out!
I really need to try this.
I tried this and it did'nt work. I followed the instructions.
Is the pop susposed to be hot?
It's a fake, it was a video on the internet and was proved not to work.
since that doesnt work you can allways put a candle in a pop can and cut some holes for light.
Or you could buy a small MAG light and pack it next time.

this makes no sense to bring this when you could just bring a flash light
