Small note books keep hunting packs and survival kits ready to go!

Keeping a small note book (and pen) in your hunting and survival kits is a good idea. When you notice that something is old or worn you can note it and replace it when you get home. Also if you notice that something is missing you can note that as well. This is especially helpful in the field when you think "well that would sure be handy". Then you'll have it for next time. If you fallow this advice your gear will always be as ready to go to the hills as you are.
