The Tip Board

Label your guns

Uploaded on June 23, 2009

The small return address labels you get in the mail are a great way to mark your gun. Just remove the recoil pad and stick one to the wood, place the pad back on. Out of sight and if you every need to prove ownership after a theft or someone grabs the wrong gun off the trap stand, its easy to check.

Now that is a great, great idea! I will have to follow your suggestion. It will take a little bit of time to do this; however, the time will be well spent if a gun gets stolen, misplaced or what have you. Another good tip is to write down the make and model and serial number of every firearm you own and store the information in a securely located fireproof safe or in a safety deposit box. In addition, you may want to still photograph or videotape every firearm you own. In doing all of the above, you have information to provide your insurance company and law enforcement officials in the event that a mishap occurs.
