Bass Fishing
Alex out grew the hunting clothes I bought him last May, so we went to Sports Authority®. Every piece of clothing was grossly marked with a brand name like Bone Collector etc. This turns me off instantly with no desire to buy it. How would you feel wearing a shirt or pants the brand name can be read at 30 feet?
I don't mind a brand name printed on something, provided I don't look like a Human Billboard!
Another problem is the sizes, small, Medium, Large, XL, 2XL, 3XL etc. The problem is, they fit in the waist but the length is long as for 7 foot tall Basket Ball players.
I'll buy anything at a good price but NBA stuff. They can shove it.
Where are you buying your clothes at? I'd love for some pants long enough for me. The regular XL pant cuff rides about 4" above my ankles.
I ended up getting wrangler brand pants at Academy. They size just like jeans where you get the waist and inseam independant of each other.
I think it's okay as long as it's tasteful and small. You can't blame a company for wanting to show off their name. But you are right about not wanting it across half the front.
Some of the noobs buy it just because of the name, and some of us just get what we like.
I think it's up to the individual taste. Personally, I would rather blend with nature. If I chose to wear something in print, it would be something with a message, rather than wearing an overpriced advertisment.
I guess everyone has a different take on it. I like wearing t-shirts from SumoFish, Cabela's, Bass Pro, etc. just like lots of people like wearing shirts with their favorite team logos.
Holy crap ableskeever, how tall are you? I'm 6' 2" but I have short legs so pants aren't a problem for me. My pant length is only 34, it should be at least 36 for my height.
6'5"
WOW
I don't like band names and large print on my close either.
My arms are the worst though. My wingspan is nearly 7', so I have to be a bit creative to get stuff to fit. Most of my shirts don't go into the drier.
Out of desperation, I bought a "pop-up" blind last week. I set it up on my hunting spot this morning. Imagine my surprise when I got it all set up and realized there is a great big white and yellow "Bone Collector" logo stitched into the front of the blind!!!! It isn't that it's "that" large, but I prefer it wasn't there!

You could dull it out with some charcoal or dirt.
Ableskeever, I'm not sure about my wingspan but I know how you feel about making stuff fit. I had to start wearing short sleeve shirts more often because long sleeve usually means "not long enough" sleeves. My legs are short. My upper body is long. Most shirts are too short in length, just like the sleeves. XL shirts from asian countries are a joke. I have to look for XLT or 2XLT.

I'll DOUBLE WOW DAT!
Changing the ballasts in the office a couple weeks ago, I could have used you, LOOK MAMA, NO LADER!
I can associate with ableskeever...I am 6'6" and weigh about 205lbs and finding hunting clothes that fit properly can be tough. I have lucked out though because in some cases..the "tall" stuff is left on the rack because some of us are larger than the average bear.
that last sentence didn't read right...I meant the tall stuff is left on the rack because it won't fit most people...just us that are larger than the average bear.
I don't like to wear logo t-shirts but I saw a lady in the mall yesterday wearing one I would wear. It was Hank Jr. on an American Flag background and said Hank Jr. for president.
I'd vote for Hank Jr.
Yup,
To get his stances on some issues, you need to listen to "If the South would've won"
Went to Walmart the other day, found a 98% perfect hunting coat and I bought it! The hood is gray but able to stuff it down into the coat with comfort.
Ableskeever, it's been a while but I remember his song Mr. Lincoln. Made a lot of sense.
