Is Remington selling a XCR rifle with a HOLE in the stock?

Uploaded on January 29, 2009

Take a look for yourself and decide for yourself if the "HOLE" in the stock is "ordinary". Personally in my humble opinion, I think the HOLE is something Remington should be ashamed of. You decided, pictures below:

Just another example of some of the crap that is coming out of the prodution lines. Its just not Remingington; all manufactures are doing this. One might argue that if it were not for these manufacturing shortcuts; guns would be overpriced.

Many guns are now coming with plastic trigger guards and plastic detachable clips. Why would someone what a detachable clip for hunting?

Multi-piece bolts are cheaper but not as good as one piece.

My personal favorite "Free Floated Barrel". Just an excuse to not properly bed a barrel in the stock.

Actually, the hole is only on the LH models. Remington did that just to aggravate Dave Petzal and to prove that right handers still control everything -- even such minutiae that can make men crazy with disgust and a sense of disenfranchisement.

at first i didn't notice, and thought you were referring to what looks like an ambidextrous bolt cutaway, but then i realized there is a hole in the cutaway. its a shame.
