You just gotta love and respect Texas Women.

TRUE STORY FROM...

"THE HOUSTON HERALD NEWSPAPER" IN HOUSTON , TEXAS"

Last Thursday Night Around Midnight, A Woman From Houston , Texas Was Arrested, Jailed, And Charged With
Manslaughter For Shooting A Man 6 Times In The Back As He Was Running Away With Her Purse. ~

The Following Monday Morning, The Woman Was Called In Front Of the arraignment Judge, Sworn In, And asked to explain her actions. The woman replied, "I was standing at the corner bus stop for about 15 minutes, waiting for the bus to take me home after work. I am a waitress at a local cafe. I was there alone, so I had my right hand on my pistol, that was in my purse, that was hung over my left shoulder. All of a sudden I was being spun around hard to my left. As I caught my balance, I saw a man running away from me with my purse.. I looked down at my right hand and I saw that my fingers were wrapped tightly around my pistol. The next thing I remember is saying out loud, "No Way Punk! You're not stealing my pay check and tips." I raised my right hand, pointed my pistol at the man running away from me with my purse, and squeezed the trigger of my pistol 6 times!

~ When asked by the arraignment judge, "Why did you shoot the man 6 times? ~

The woman replied under oath, "Because, When

I pulled the trigger the 7th time, It only went click." ~

The woman was acquitted of all charges. She was back at work at the cafe the next day!

Now that's Gun Control....

Texas Style

Sure is dif-rent over here in TX after moving away from CA. They're about to loose a bunch of criminals from the prison system!

Isn't it interesting that the 5 cities in the US with the highest murder rates are all in states which do not have shall-issue concealed carry laws, like Texas does? Can we really think that the legislators do not know this? Can we really think that, when they try to pass more laws to take more of our gun rights away, and they tell us it is for our safety, that they do not know they are lying through their teeth?

To be honest, I am not upset that she got off from the charges. I am a little surprised, but that is Texas for you.

I also have no problem that she fired so many times. If you are going to use lethal force, then you need to be LETHAL.

My problem with the shooting is the man that stole the purse, and then was running down the street away from her, did not pose any imminent threat. In the way I am trained, lethal force would not and SHOULD NOT be authorized in this circumstance.

If the man had a weapon, which he may have had, it would be different. Even if he had a weapon and ran away, he can still USE that weapon against her so deadly force would be authorized.

Now, don't ge me wrong. The guy was a criminal. I have no sadness for what happened to him, BUT I don't think the woman should have gunned him down. I know I wouldn't have. Hopefully she doesn't get charged with a civil lawsuit, cuz if she does, her life is over, and her finances are down the toilet.

That is the reality of concealed carry. You have to be able to back up WHATEVER you do with a weapon.

I love Texas women. I married one, and she would have dropped him with the first two rounds...the next four would have been close up, in the head. You know, just in case.

Whitetailfreek is right, technically, but he also knows that in the heat of the moment, the working girl deserves more than being ripped off by some perp. My lady would have notched the grip and slept like a baby, afterwards. By the way, did the crumb die from the wounds?

An historical fact: Gov. Sam Houston was in Houston when Confederates were mustering and pushing into Louisiana, to bolster the Confederate Armies in the East. One drover, or wagonmaster, complained that his progress was being impeded by the crowd of soldiers. He shot at one several times. Houston asked if he hit the man. He said, no, he missed. Houston fined him for missing.

Welcome to Texas...a whole other country.

blueridge, you are right, she did not deserve that kind of stunt pulled on her. Like I said before, I don't feel bad for this pile of crap. I just hope she doesn't get her life destroyed by some vindictive family member only trying to get her money.

I am with ya, whitetailfreek. I would not have shot the sorry pile of crap, but I know Texas women who will not stand for such rude behavior. You have to give the gal credit; she hit him six times, with him bailing in high gear. Some of our finest cannot seem to match that.

'freek!

If the woman had a paycheck and tips in her purse, apparently she was not well-to-do.
We need to look at threats in a multiple facet way.
What if that particular paycheck paid her rent and bought groceries for her children?
Was the "perp" not threatening the lives of her children by stealing money for "their" food?
She might have also known, "...no paycheck, no rent, no roof over my children's heads..."
Therefore, by stealing HER money, the perp threatened HER children!
See my post on "The Firing Line" about Erlanger OKC.

Bubba, I can see where you are going with your logic, and believe me I get it.

As far as myself, I still know I would not have shot a guy in the back running off with my wallet. I would have chased him down and gave him an all out beating, but I would not have taken his life. But like I said before, I have extensive training in the Force Continuum. Lethal force would have not have been justified in my mind.

Not knocking her. If she gets off from all criminal, and civil charges, God Bless Her, and God Bless Texas.

Perhaps, 'freek, had Erlanger based his business in Texas rather than Oklahoma, the results may have been different.
Location, location, location.
