Mittens not doing well

Uploaded on February 07, 2012

CO and MN still have yet to send enough totals in to call it but MO looks like Santorum. Romney has been falling pretty hard versus Obama all week also. Might have put a dent in Mitmentum.

Very serious problem for ol Mittens. Got beat by an almost octogenarian libertarian in Minnesotta, it was a trifecta of Mitt rejections. Santorum underspent him 1/10. Does this mean Santorum is the one? Not with a Google problem the size of his.

This should have been a blow out election for the Repubs, still might be, but for now I'm hoping Obama has coattails so we can strengthen the affordable care act, fix taxes, and send y'all to a FEMA camp.

Rock Rat, your constant referal to a word made up by pissed off gays is just as juvenile as some of the constant referrals to Obama on this forum as capon-in-chief and Obummer. Puts you in the same group as birthers. Get over it and grow up.

Yes, Romney has some serious problems and much are his own doing. First, in Iowa he decided to go very negative on Gingrich which caused Gingrich and his supporters to retaliate in the following contests. This negative campagining made Romney release his tax returns which gave fodder to those with a class envy problem. Second, Romney has made blunders in misstatments about the poor that are now being effectively used out of context against him.

IF Romney secures the nomination he can recover because Obama has made even worse blunders. For example, compare Romney's charitable contributions to those of Obama. Also, Obama has alienated many more groups including Catholics and those who support Israel.

If Romney or Santorum win the nomination and the national election either will make a much better president than Obama. Who knows, perhaps the GOP nominee will Bachman as a running mate and have a better looking or more intelligent VP than Biden has been ;-)

Allow the Sayfu to sum it up. Romney has some problems all created because he can not sell capitalism...needs to read an ECON 101 book that wasn't written by a socialist. Romney is fine..low turn out in the states Santorum just won, and it was a big reaction by the Tea Party, conservatives relating to Obama's attack on Catholics. Obama has alienated not only Catholics, but other Christians as well interfering in Christian doctorine, and another example of the expansion of govt role. Romney has the machine, and the money. Nothing more than a bump in the road. But he had better learn to sell capitalism. Something this thread can not do as well.

Yeah, Romney has some serious problems. Seems to me that after 6 years of campaigning he still can't convince folks he's a conservative.
Personally, I don't care which of the 3 are nominated. Poll after poll shows Obama doing better and better everyday, thanks to folks who believe stuff like he's alienated the Isreali's...because folks over there sure don't think so.
As for his supposed "war" on religion, (the current Catholic dust-up) I sure wish someone in the administration would do a better job of explaining just what such decisions really do. For instance, this latest decision is about healthcare...not about religion.

"Poll after poll shows Obama doing better every day" Now how big a duffus statement is that?..Why of course he is. The GOP candidates are beating up on each other, and NO ONE is running against Obama. Watch the polls change when the one on one begins. What incredible words of wisdom you can read on this thread.

Here's another truism. At ome time Ronald Reagan was a hoski, liberal democrat. Reagan went on to become a conservative, one of our GREATEST PRESIDENTS, and the symbol of conservatism in this country.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows a dead heat between Obama and Santorum:

In the Senate, 6 of the 8 toss-up seats are Democrat, Republicans only need to pick up 4...

Well for Mr. Santorum I'll only use his name in the future, but if I giggle a little, well. that can't be helped.

The other monikers are friendly, back east in prep schools, the sleep over kind like Bush went to, Exeter, Mount Hermon, Deerfield Academy, all those, they have cool sounding and even slightly silly nicknames often based on real life names. Skip and Buffy, Socks or PJ, Bush loved to do it.

Newton because he's always telling everyone what a brain he is.

What do you mean immature Joishe bra?

I have to say the primary process is a pretty good thing. A lot of issues come to light before the general and the candidates get knocked around a little. I mean imagine if Caine were the nominee without the primary vetting process? It would have been disastrous. Remember Obama/Clinton? That thing wen't all the way to the end. Everything that could possibly come out did.

Romney has some pretty serious problems as a candidate during these times of a widening wealth gap and lack of social mobility. In constant dollars wages are down to like eleven something, less than when Clinton was in office, a lot less than when Nixon was in office. The middle class makes less money now and the wealthy make a lot more, and, and, and our efficiency has about doubled. We are very good at making goods and services for a lot less cost than we used to, but no one is getting any of that savings except Mittens (pardon me) and his friends. That's a serious issue.

I like Santorum, he did well in the debates, not by being an attack dog but by being truthful. He didn't have to calculate what the correct answer is to not piss anyone off. He didn't need to think about the issue, he already has. Santorum might be a gay bashing conservative but he seems to not be misrepresenting himself. I've heard he is a very personable guy. Let's see how he does over the next few days meeting all the big money folks, doing all the backslapping and flesh pressing, cause that's what he has to do, he has no money but lots of folks that want to give it to him now. He needs to organise a national campaign in like half a week. And Mittens is going to start slinging a ton of mud his way.

PigHunter,
Can't argue much, 'cept to say Rasmussen is widely known to lean a little to the right, just as MSNBC leans left.

I think realistically both the House and Senate will be in play.
I remind everyone I can about who constantly walks out of negotiations, promises jobs will be #1 concern and then proceed to do everything except a job bill...it'll be interesting.
