Moochers Against Welfare

Uploaded on February 19, 2012

One of the largest objections to the social safety net is that too many are just mooching off the system. Lazy SOBs hanging out drinking beer on the govt dole.

It's always amazed me that the people in the states using up the bulk of govt taxes, pay the least and complain about people, well, like themselves.

It turns out that 2 out of 5 on Social Security, Medicare, and Unemployment Insurance think that they haven't used a government program. They figure they themselves aren't mooching, they are truly deserving and it's not a hand out.

"First, Atlas shrugged. Then he scratched his head in puzzlement."

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/17/opinion/krugman-moochers-against-welfa...?

Do you know anyone on Social Security or Medicaire?

If the WO demonstrators, and all the other moochers, the freeloaders that want their freebies, they had better be smarter than a hoski, and realize that capitalism provides the freebies, not fascist socialism which we now have overseeing our economy.

Union teachers in Chicago demand a 30% raise over the next two years as well(today's paper)...hard workin folks with the mindset of a hoski. I'm sure they will get their raise after voting for Obama. Surely there must be a lot of money in the pot to pay for their raises after the trillion dollars Obama, and the left spent stimulating the economy.

A guy down the street from me getting SSI benefits to the tune of almost $3000.00 a month for a "bad back" and he lifts blocks of wood that I can't lift up on a wood splitter and yet he complains about all of the people on welfare that don't need it. Everytime I hear him say that I would just like to slap him up beside the head. I know of probably 10 or more guys in my small town just like him. We know who he is going to vote for the party in power now who wants to keep the free checks coming.

Is he going to vote Dem Sarge? That guy down the street might well be one of the folks I'm talking about. He might also have a bad back. I can't lift my right arm to shave but I can lift bags of concrete all day long. Some injuries act in strange ways, No I don't, never been to the doctor actually, waiting for ACA.

I live in a town that had mines until 1966. Everyone knows every one for 3 generations. Lot of elderly widows depend on SS and Medicare. They live frugally.

He has been turned in several times. No one wants to do anything. Keep him on the rolls, job security. I don't have a problem with someone that needs help. My Mother-in-law could hardly get in and out of her car and into her house but she could get nothing. Something has to be done to the system, the guy down the street goes with us on military funerals and fires a M1 rifle with no problem and no one can tell that he is in any way disabled. He has no problem dragging deer for 100's of yards out of the woods either and loading them into the back of his truck. I think it comes down to who can do the best job of acting and the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Got a good fishing friend that was an insurance investigator. I couldn't wait to talk to him when I saw his van next to my steelhead river. His windows were blacked out so no one could see in, and he'd set up a camara, and film guys on disability that were down clammering over the rocks, and boulders fishing. He was paid very handsomely for his work. One of the more impressive jobs I've seen in my life.

I hope everyone realizes hiring investigators to catch frauds equates to growing the govt.
I tried to get this discussion going concerning the huge amount of dollars lost to the computer hackers and bogus storefronts that charge SocSec and Medicare and automatically get paid. The example aired on CBS's 60 Minutes a few months ago, something along the lines of $300 million in just one city in Florida.
At the time I think it was Sarge who protested that the FBI was lolly gagging doing investigations and wouldn't hear of it concerning hiring fraud investigators.
So this sounds like whining to me.

The food stamp program, part of the Dept. of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever.
Meanwhile the Park Service, also a part of the Dept of Agricultrue asks us "Please Don't Feed The Animals" because the animals may grow dependent on it and may not learn to take care of themselves....Go figure.

But to answer your question Sarge I guess it all comes down to what you think of your fellow human being.

With any animal species there is a certain amount of winter kill, we accept that.

As Christians and Americans we collectively as a society have decided that we won't let people go hungry. I understand that not everyone cares about their fellow human being, and that's ok, we aren't all the same, some people think it's ok to kill or steal, others are all kinds of deviants. As a society we make decisions about the kind of compassion we will extend toward our fellow countrymen. Just the way it is. Public education, fire departments, health care, food.

I'm just curious are you a Christian?

That was meant to be a bit of satire but I suppose that you took it as gospel. Yes I'm a Christian and from my previous posts you have garnered that I want to help people by wanting to help the young mother and others with the programs that we have available at the local health dept. to help them improve their lives. Lighten up, its better for your health. And my church donates large amounts of money to families that are having a hard time making it, especially the ones where the bread winner can't work and small children are involved. I along with others at my church donate time fixing things at peoples houses that need things that can't seem to come up with the means to do so, I don't really care if you question my morals or not there is only ONE that I care about and it isn't you.
