What's It Worth?

Obama what?

Uploaded on May 12, 2013

I recently received a "questionaire" from my PCP.
There was a cover sheet on the questionaire with a date and time highlighted in screaming yellow and starts like this:

Dear Patient

Medicare "requires" (my emphasis!) you have a wellness visit, once a year, (highlighted in yellow) this is not a physical exam, nor will any other health issues, or problems be included in this visit, those problems will have to have a different appointment. This exam (?) will be over the questions that are included with this letter.
Please have the questions filled out when you arrive.

Your appointment has been set for________

Question 1.
How much have you been bothered by anxiety, depression, irritability, sadness or been downhearted?
Not at all
Slightly
Moderately
Quite a bit
Extremely
(HELL! I was doing just fine until I opened THIS da*ned thing! Now I'm irritated as hell!)

Question 3.
During the past four weeks, how much bodily pain have you generally had?
No pain
Very mild pain
Mild pain
Moderate pain
Severe pain
(About 30 seconds ago, I began feeling an extremely sharp pain in the a$$ coming on!)

Question 18.
Are you afraid of falling?
Yes
No
(Oh hell no! I enjoy getting these old busted up feet tangled up and kissing this rock hard Oklahoma, drought hardened red clay!)

...and probably the best one...
Question 22.
Are there safety hazards in your home?
Yes
No
(I've got an 870, two AR's, a 100# Rotty and a wife armed with a semi-auto hand gun. Nope! No safety hazards. Pop in anytime! We love unannounced house!)

How humorous will it be when you get the same form?

Eventually, the IPAB (2018 I think) will have the final say as to who gets what.
"Nope, you're to old. You get pain pills instead of a new hip!"

Studies show that seniors who have joints replaced live longer, healthier lives than those who receive pain medications only.
Could the IPAB be the proverbial "death panel"?
"Sorry! At your age, you get pain meds instead of a new hip!"

Hoski, how long have we been using private insurance and this never happened? Probably since the invention OF insurance. But it happens AFTER Obamacare comes about! Also I don't know about where you're at but here insurance rates have gone up 2%, and Obamacare isn't even supposed to kick in until 2014/15! How much more are the rates going to go up before benefits (if there are any) come about? We're going to starve before we can get healthcare.

Country Boy,
What's wrong with you?
Private insurance rates have gone up?
Perhaps your questions should be directed to the Private insurance companies!
Geez-o-Pete, private companies decide to raise rates and therefore their profit margin and you blame Obama?
I know...maybe we'll go back to the good ol days when insurers could decide to charge whatever they pleased while at the same time denying coverage or placing yearly and lifetime caps.
And just for clarity, "ObamaCare" has been in effect for a couple years now, it's benefits, like the banning of denying coverage and the elimination of lifetime caps, and the accountability of insurers spending at least 80% of premiums on actual healthcare etc. are already happening.

Oh, and just for the record, we've endured years of bubba proclaiming he isn't on ANY govt "entitlement" programs...seems he's been caught in yet another untruth.

Come on Hoski, you don't expect FB to go all Amish on us and start paying cash for his medical care. No one who's entitled to their Medicare and SSI is going to turn it down are they? Every American is entitled to their entitlements regardless of income or political beliefs. FB is one of the 47% Right? and, I'm sure he voted for OBama after Romney called him a "dependent on the government" parasite. Im sure he recognized the insult. He worked his whole life for his entitlements. Romney had no right to call him that.

First off, I'm on disability through a private pension fund.
Because of my disability, I "qualify" for "Medicare". Guess what? I "pay" every month for that privilege (?)! It's just like an insurance premium.

Did you know?

•At the time Obamacare was passed, healthcare spending was increasing more slowly than at any time in the last century

•The Obama health lae is already causing premiums to go up

•Obamacare's emphasis on preventing sickness rather than treating the ill will shortchange the seriously ill

•The Obama health law gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services oversight over doctors' decisions, even for patients with private health plans they paid for Themselves

No Hoski, we have government insurance, not private. We are a government employed household, living on government paychecks (not welfare)! Our insurance is funded by taxes as is everything else we have, now we are not federal government but rather local, and in January our local government gave a 3% raise in pay. When tax time came we found out that the raise was given to help offset an increase in taxes, which it does not, because not only do we have federal taxes we have state and local taxes too, it only helps to relieve the burden, so any increase in pay is quickly taken aback by taxes.
And the sequester isn't to blame either, as all this was before the sequester went into effect. So if Obama and his healthcare didn't do it, who did?
P.S. Our care quality is going to the dogs also!
