Olympia Snowe to Quit (She's a Republican Senator)

Uploaded on February 29, 2012

and very popular, would have won easily. A moderate, the purists got to her. Might well be another senate seat for the Dems. I like it better when they just switch parties.

As a frequent visitor to the great state of Maine its sad to see her go. Moreover, the country lost a voice of reason in the senate, something that is quite needed these days.

She could get on a slow boat to China, and make it one way if it were up to me. Anyone that embrassed ObamaCare, and supported Obama on this destructive bill is no conservative Republican for sure. The GOP is going through an ethnic cleansing process, and Snowe is one of them that has been cleansed. She knew she was an outcast, and couldn't be re-elected. I'd have sent money to a moderate democrats campaign that would have run against her.

Agreed Moose1980, and RockRat.
As she herself said, the pettiness and inability to accomplish even the most mundane governing procedures has become too partisan.
With a Congressional approval rating of 10% I can hardly blame her for not wanting to be a part.

All incumbents should do the honorable thing and not run for re-election as well!

Dems and Republicans used to have lots of moderates. You could expect any contentious bill to have any number of both parties for and against. Now nothing comes to a vote unless it passes the 2/3 filibuster proof majority.

I was reading Nate Silver this morning and he puts this one at likely Dem now. Might well keep the senate blue.

What I'd really like to see is the Republicans get trounced enough to realize that radicalism has no place in current US politics. If both parties were working to improve things it would be a lot easier.

Sayfu, just so you know, she supported the bill in committee but did not vote for it on the floor. Far be it for facts to get in the way of another of your rambling rants.

So why didn't she have the backbone to support it on the floor? The GOP is ridding itself of gutless members that side with liberal democrats. Don't believe me? Watch the elections in Nov. and see how many moderates that are nothing more than liberals get thrown out along with liberals. Anyone that can't see the direction we are headed is totally out of touch with what is going on. You'd think the midterm elections would have provided you a clue.

If her seat does go to the Democrats, it will mean nothing in the end since she voted with them more often than her own party anyway. She was never anything but a RINO.

Another one we need to quit is Maxine Waters. In a hearing in Congress where the Shell Oil President was testifying about drilling she said the purpose of the Obummer administration was to socialize America. She slipped up and the guy sitting next to her nugged her and then she started stuttering and stammereing trying to cover it up. What a real waste of a seat in Congress.

Maxine Waters is just another far leftist democrat. Snowe is a Republican that embarrassed the party. She and several others were courted by the left as they were more than willing to support ObamaCare. It isn't surprising that she will not run again. Many liberal congress folks up for re-election have already thrown in the towel. Barney Franks has indicated he won't run again. Any surprise? Barney told the folks Fanny and Freddie was in no trouble of going under going forward being Barney supported F & F buying up the subprime loans for flakes that couldn't afford to pay back the loans. So far the taxpayer is stuck for $150 billion dollars, and F & F just told the tax payers they need another 5 billion dollars to stay afloat.

Sayfu, Did you see that our liberal GOP friend, Snowe was the ONE republican decenter that did not reject the provision in Obama's ObamaCare bill that insurance companies MUST pay for contraception pills violating the First Amendment? The only one! Glad to see our socialist member will be sent packing. And I can't wait for WAMtnhunter to post his losing lines regarding Ron Paul running as a third party candidate. I might have to post his lines for him so he doesn't forget them.

halfhitch,
See, you are delusional; talking to yourself again. I don't recall a specific wager, but I did state that Paul would be likely to run as a third party spoiler ensuring the Capon in Chief's re-election. Sayfu is the dipshit that called it a wager. Go ahead, post anyhing you like; you do that anyway! LMAO!
