Free Wolf Hunting in Wyoming

Wyoming mostly is a "predator" zone for wolves, and some of the trophy game units become predator units depending on the time of year. Looking at their rules and regs I couldn't find anything about out of atate predator wolf hunting. So I called.

What the fellow at Fish and Game told me was that you didn't even need a small game license.

The regular predator zone stretches halfway up the range of mountains on the west side of the state known as Commisarry Ridge/Wyoming/Salt River Ranges. Basically in a line stretching east west above Smoot. I've walked a lot of those hills when I was a pup. prime elk coiuntry, and  that means prime wolf country.

Further East it covers the tail end of  the Winds, which I'm not at all familiar with. 

In the predator zone the hunt is open 12 mo a year. In some of the trophy game units it's only during the off season Feb to Oct roughly. 

Don't take my word for it investigate it yourself. Needless to say follow all hunting laws, private land etc. When the Fish and Game fellow realized I was seriouis he offered I could go ahead and shoot all the coyotes I wanted too, red fox, prarie dogs. No end of things they'd like dead.
