Santorum shoot self in foot

Uploaded on January 09, 2012

Not really sure if Rick Santorum ever had much of a chance, but he's pretty busy killing his own campaign.
Seems he was having a talk and was explaining his position on welfare...usual GOP line about wanting to create jobs to lift folks out of poverty but focused on "blacks", as if only African Americans populate welfare and food stamp rolls.
When confronted about his ill advised comment, Santorum denied using the term "blacks"...said he used the term "blahs".
Now I try to be open minded about things, so I'll just take ol' Rick's word as gospel as soon as somebody introduces me to a person of "blah" heritage.

I know, too funny.
Newt is a human hand grenade...and he has his hands on his pin.
About to give that political wannabe from Massachusetts a drubbin with his own superpac to the tune of $3.7 million spent in S. Carolina TV ads attacking the predators at Bain capital. Even if it costs him the nomination.

Paul is the loony relative that every family tries desperately to disown.

Perry wants to re-invade Iraq, and Santorum seems to forget the folks of SouthWestern Pennsylvania who're so dirt poor they can't even pay attention, but think only African Americans receive welfare.

Pretty convenient when Obama can count on Repubs slashing at Repubs. What ever happened to Reagan's 11th commandment?
(Republicans shall not attack fellow Republicans?)
Real treasure trove of 30 second spots for the upcoming general.

Huntsman might pull a #3 in NH. I wonder what's going to happen with the primaries, will Republicans keep on trying out different candidates? No one is going to accuse Newt of running for VP.

Steve Colbert had an agreement with the SC Republican Party to name the primary after him and he'd pay for it but a judge shot it down. Said mostly anything can be bought. And he was also to get a referendum on "are corporations people" started a PAC. The party had already printed the ballots. When the Repubs failed to appeal, he made the same offer to the Dems who were equally eager to be bought.

You libs are a joke. Given your backdrop of voting for, and listening to all the crap coming out of Obama's mouth, and then given the results of his support for all of his destructive policies...not ONE has proven beneficial, you have the nerve to nit pick at what a GOP candidate says...and especially suggesting racism given Obama has been the most racist President we have ever had?...called lots of gall.

WA Mtn.
I don't read hoski's posts PAST the first BS he puts out, and he usually does that early on. I read...Newt is a human hand grenade. No he isn't. The guy is brilliant. He's got incredible solutions to all of our problems and can articulate them. Just listen to how he exposes the liberal media, and the liberal moderators that pose the liberal questions...the guy is brilliant as to how he can re-frame the question, and put it into context. Hoski is a far left winger. The voters have a clear choice. Do you want to right the disastrous economic situation we are in, or do you want to vote for more hoski/Obama socialism? The choice is clear. Hoski will make every attempt possible to support socialism.

And Mtn...."attacking "predators at Bain Capital?" There were no "predators at Bain Capital" That is a hoski lie. Newt is retaliating for the negative ads Romney put out against him, and trying to effect the polls, but again, hoski shows his complete ignorance as to ECON 101, and why an executive would have to fire people. Obama would not fire his govt union employees even though that is the austerity measure we have to do...instead he hires more!...and hoski doesn't get it, and is either stupid, or a far left wing ideolog. You tell me which one it is.

"Earmark Rick" is an idiot, straight up. Took more money from the health care industry than any other congressman during his tenure. Surprised he moved up in the polls at all, but it seems everybody gets a turn. I do miss the billboards that would pop up all over Pennsylvania when he was up for re-election: big picture of Rick with a shotgun over his shoulder simply stating "I'm Rick Santorum, and I'm the NRA."

PigHunter, "Sounds like something a Democrat would do"?
Ouch!
But of course you're right...everyone knows every GOP politician is the giver of light and as pure as the driven snow.
Shall we discuss your pick (Gingrich) and his House ethics conviction-fine-and eventual ouster from the Speakership?
Perhaps next you could explain the difference between lobbying, influence peddling, and merely being a "historical adviser".
And you might finish up by explaining to us how Mr. Gingrich can go from admonishing the moderator in the first debate just a few short months ago about trying to highlight the differences between the candidates, (which is the whole purpose of the never ending debates) and his proclamation that all the candidates on the stage are great men and it's the media who tries to divide the GOP candidates... to his most recent tactic of making sure Romney isn't the eventual nominee with his $3.7 million ad buy attacking Bain Capital---funded by his friend the casino owner Adelson.

Sayfu,
I think most folks accept the fact that the GOP candidates are just trying to throw each other under the campaign bust to get ahead in the race. Politics as usual, but in this age of electronic media, statements can be played back over and over, even out of context, to make one look like an ass. I'll bet you see a lot of primary statements repeated and poked at by the Obama campaign when it is time. Recall the sniping Joe Biden and Hillary did at Obama leading up to the nominating convention? One of them is his Veep and the other his Sec. of State after they both said that he did not have the experience to run the country, was not qualified, etc.

The three info commercials Newt is running in South Carolina, are pretty convincing to me. I'd call them less an attack ad more a filling in the bio of Mitt.

As Newt correctly saw it, in order to reform welfare that was championed under Clinton who admitted welfare had to be reformed, Newt's brilliant mind saw the need to educated folks, and educate a segment of the population that we had to move away from the big welfare state democrats had created...and along with the WA Establishment Republicans I might add. And Newt accomplished it, but he needed money to accomplish it. The IRS never prosecuted Newt for using public funds for a private interest. All charges were dismissed on that grounds. And Newt could not have been convicted of ethics violations by congress without the support democrats got from the WA establishment Republicans! And that is the problem Newt has run into now running for President. The WA Establishment Republicans are against him. That is why the TEA Party folks are such an important factor in this year's elections.

Huntsman might pull a #3 in NH. I wonder what's going to happen with the primaries, will Republicans keep on trying out different candidates? No one is going to accuse Newt of running for VP.

Steve Colbert had an agreement with the SC Republican Party to name the primary after him and he'd pay for it but a judge shot it down. Said mostly anything can be bought. And he was also to get a referendum on "are corporations people" started a PAC. The party had already printed the ballots. When the Repubs failed to appeal, he made the same offer to the Dems who were equally eager to be bought.
