Bird Hunting
kansas pheasant opener
Uploaded on November 21, 2009Went to Hays,KS on the 14th, saw a lot of birds and a crap load of hunters. In two days shot 8 pheasant and 5 quail. Did anybody go up near the Hays or LaCrosse,KS area? How did anybody that went to Kansas do?

I went north of Hays last weekend (closer to the NE border) and was severely disappointed. Maybe saw 15 pheasants total. We got into quite a few quail, but I could have stayed home and saw 15 pheasants and that many quail.
went to Russell,KS for the opener and did well.Whole team limited out on pheasant both days.Not to many quail.
Got to go home to Dodge city for x mas leave. I only see maybe 10 or so pheasants but the quail hunting was unbelivable.
