Open water duck hunting

i have recently spoke to a D.N.R in my town and he told me that they are in the process of a august canadian goose hunt in southwest Minnesota and Open water duck hunting on large bodies of water like lake of the woods, lake superior, Milacs Lake, and Lake Pepin.
How do you guys feel about Open Water duck hunting and the affect it will have on waterfowl hunting in Minnesota next year?
