Bird Hunting

Stoeger M3500

Uploaded on November 09, 2011

Has anybody heard or have the new Stoeger M3500. Looking to get one, I hunt ducks/geese, grouse, deer, and turkeys. Or would a Remington 11-87 be a better option. I'm also not wanting to spend more than about 800 for it.

I'd consider the wt of both guns. Both guns should work fine. The Stoeger is a co. under the Benelli umbrella of companies, and is the inertia action auto mechanism that I have learned to enjoy..works fine. And it looks to me like you are not an upland bird hunter, so if the Rem is somewhat heavier that should not make a difference for you..maybe even a slight advantage in swinging the barrel for waterfowl.

I would go for a Remington 11-87. My 1100 has been great. Buy American when you can.

for a cheaper option you should think about a weatherby SA-08

I don't care if it is American, or from Zimbabwe, but it has to work. USA mfgers. are having guns made out of the country in order to sell them! Ever heard of ANYONE on this F & S rag say they want a good good regardless of the cost? No, it is all about I'm on a low budget, and that is why they are made out of the country. But anyway, I just had a problem with my Benelli Montefeltro, and it jammed costing me a pheasant!!! Anyone know how a Stoeger M3500, OR my Montefeltro can have the magazine cleaned out! It stuck and wouldn't recycle, and there was black gunk in it when you shove your finger up in there. It shows in the manual that the magazine tube is threaded into the receiver, but it is heat threaded in, and can't be backed out it appears. You can pull out the thin metal plug from the top, and I squirted some gunk remover that evaporates in time down the little hole at the top, but anyone know about this?
