Rifle. Sorry, as a hunter that doesn't get out as much as I would like I at least need to be able to knock down what I see and it is the one weapon that I have had a lot of training on given my military background. Black powder or bow and I am starting at square one, and I don't have time for that right now.
All the above, I have 5 months to hunt deer with the combination of all three!
I love my bow and there is nothing like hangin out in hayfield waiting for that elusive buck. But I am going to have to vote for my rifle. There is just something about it I love. My dad gave it to my, and it has always shot straight. I love the type of hunting it calls for, plus those crisp october mornings are what make like good.
i only get to hunt with my dad for about a week if not under so i have to make sure i can reach on and touch em when i get the chance so i think id have to go with the rifle.
Good point, Clay. He's right. If you aren't using all 3, you are missing out on some good hunting. Not that I don't usually get my buck before gun season with a bow...
Mr. Coopers right. WHAT SEASON IS IT? All three please.
bow, rifle or black powder?
O'HELL!
GO NATIVE!
Rifle...cause I'm RALPH THE RIFLEMAN!
Bowhunting is awesome to me.
Has to be the Bow, For Elk it's the best time to be in the mountains and if you’re like me and really only have public land to hunt your not getting the pressure from a lot of other hunters. Here in Colorado you have over a month to fill your tag if you use a bow, Plus getting so close just adds to the thrill.
I'm cool with all three....but the bow is my favorite!
I really couldn't pick between bow & rifle! I love the aspect both.
I hunt with both rifle and black powder (both traditional and modern). I would hunt with a bow also but just can't find the time to practice enough to feel that I was able to make an ethical shot. A friend of mine wants to take a spot and stalk black bear with his bow. I have been with him kind of as back up and observer and he has come close but has a self imposed range of 25 yards. He will take one eventually I am sure. It is very exciting!
if had to choose it would be modern blackpowder. just bought a CVA optima and have no compliants.
have used other blackpowder rifles in the past and plus growing up in DE could not use rifles and was never quite patient enough to use a bow.
ill stick with my rifle
I have been raised hunting with rifles and muzzle loaders, so those are my top two, but I have always wanted to get into bow hunting.
Shotgun. I can do more with one than I could with any of the others.
If I'm limited to eastern woods, I'll take my bow. However, if I'm on the prairie or in the mountains, give me my 30-06.
rifle because it is easier to hit that record deer from a distance before it busts you
smokepole .i've never shot one but think it would be the best challenge
