Bass Fishing
While deer hunting, or experiencing the great outdoors, I usually carry my cell phone in case of emergencies or I want to check the time.
If you have ever had to take a cell phone in for repair, the repairman usually checks a small strip of paper inside the phone to see if moisture of any kind, has gotten inside the phone. This will usually void any repair warranties.
If I'm involved in any type of vigorous exertion that involves the upper body;I keep my phone in a chest shirt pocket, for easy access, I take a small plastic bag, usually a newspaper bag, and place my cell phone inside. This keeps any moisture or condensation out of the cell phone. I cut the bag just enough, so I don't have to keep placing my arm the length of the newspaper bag every time I want to check it.
The small strip inside of my phone is moisture free!
Most manufactures nowadays make at least one model that is water resistant. My Rugby is water/shock/dust resistant. It has to be to stay working around me.
i keep my cell in a water tight box
I may wish I had it with me some day, but I keep my cell in the truck. We already have to many things which are taking the natural out of nature, the wild out of wildlife, and the hunt out of hunting. For what it's worth, just my opinion. Buck@score-your-hunting.com
I put my cell phone in a ziploc bag. I have ended up wet and the phone was moisture free.
I agree with buck..i think phones can take the natural out of nature..although one day i will probably be in some emergency where i need it.
Also if you ever do end up getting your phone wet, take the battery out immediately and place the phone/battery into a bag of rice. this will absorb the moisture. the next day try your phone and 8 times out of 10 it will work. I have actually saved a phone that had been sitting in the bottom of my rowboat in 3 inches of water for nearly ten minutes (a miracle actually) but this rice trick has worked a bunch of times
Pelican makes a very nice case for any size cell phone ad totally water proof. Check it out. WWW.PELICAN.COM
I HAVE USED ZIP LOCK BAG IN THE PAST. ALSO ANOTHER GOOD REASON FOR HAVING THE PHONE IS I CAN CHECK THE WEATHER REPORTS ON MY PHONE AS WELL AS I GET A TEXT MESSAGE ANYTIME A SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN IS ISSUED FOR MY AREA (IF NEED BE I CAN CHANGE AREAS THAT I AM AT AS NECESSARY)
good idea. I have a small waterproof bag with a clear panel in it. Double-bagging in zip-locks does well, too b/c you can use it without having to take it out.
