Hunting
If you are like me and go straight from work to the woods for the evening hunt, carry a bathroom rug or welcome mat style rug in your truck to stand on so you are not fighting in the truck to change clothes. It is easier to stand on a rug barefoot and with socks on to put your boots on. Plus your socks and feet won't get wet if the ground is wet. I keep one rolled up in the back seat or in the hunting box.
Nice idea.
Very good!
Now, why didn't I think of that?
This one got posted in the current issue. You have no idea how excited I was open it up and see it. A few guys at work saw and asked if it was me and I was proud to say it is. Too bad the people in my office are so sheltered and don't know how to enjoy the pleasures of hunting and fishing that they did not know what Field and Stream is. All I could do was laugh while they laughed at me for being so excited.
Congrats.
Good tip!!!
I do the same basic thing when trout fishing in the spring. I keep a scrap of carpet in my truck to stand on when putting on or taking off my waders.
I put my rubber boots in a rubbermaid container, I glued a peice of carpet to the top of the lid. When I pull out my boots and strip down, I have a nice place to stand instead of the dirt or snow, I suppose you could skip the carpet and just stand on the big lid, but it is a little more comfortable to stand on that way.
or jest change INSIDE the truck....why the he// would you get out to change? that makes no sense, duh, i dont get why everyone thinks this is such a good idea. if you think thats a good idea then how about this one: "CHANGE INSIDE THE TRUCK"
Maybe short guys have it easier, but I'm too tall to change comfortably inside the truck. If I'm in the middle of nowhere, why not get out? Especially if now I won't get mud between the bottom of my socks and the inside of my boots. This is for if you're changing more than just your boots, if that's what's confusing you.
Good idea. Oh and trapper.....get a life. If you don't care for jl's tip, fine.......keep it to yourself and move on.
@Jasper, ive got a life, hence my screen name on here. im also taking a gunsmithing course...but since you think i dont have a life, tell that to everyone who is paying me for gunsmithing work on their guns in my gunsmithing shop at my house. thank you.
and if we dont care for a tip, why are you telling me to keep it to myself when there is an option to RATE the tips, good or bad?!
oh, and you can also tell that to the fur buyers who buy my furs. k thanks.
Flapper, Flapper, Flapper, I just hope you don't talk to your customers like you talk to fellow hunters. If you depend on your business to put food on your table you are going to starve to death. (now lets all wait for the reply of how he kills all of his meals)
