Deer Hunting
Hello hunters. I have been researching binoculars for a while, to replace my Leupold 10x42 Cascades. I have narrowed it down to one pair. . .just debating on the zoom to get. I hunt in a blind with shelves, so I don't care about how big or small the binoculars are. With that in mind. . . which of these two would you pick, and if you would tell me why you picked the one you did. Thanks fellow hunters.
1. Nikon Monarch - 8 x 42
2. Nikon Monarch - 8.5 x 56
8.5 x 56.
8 X 42 (sorry buckhunter)
You'll get a little more "light gathering" from the 56's BUT !
The more magna. the more "shake" you get.
I LOVE my 8 X 42's.
My leupold cascade 10x42 they are perfect for everything I do. They gather light really well in the dark timber. Also the image is crystal clear.
8x42 because they have good clarity and can zoom through a lot of brush and trees. They also offer more than enough zoom for whatever you may need them for. Also the field of view on them is good.
ATB? Little difference between 8x and 8.5x magnification. If it was me, just sitting in a stand and not hauling them around, I'd go with the 56mm. Bulkier and much heavier but better in low light due to large difference in exit pupil and brightness.
