Deer Hunting
When heading out to the field or woods I make sure my backpack is organized using sealed sandwich and/or freezer bags. The contents includes everything from matches and toilet paper, to field dressing gloves, all dry and easy to find. This also works great for mulitple day trips into the backwoods or when canoeing.
I do likewise, organizing by Warmth, Water, Welfare, and Way. The warmth bag has the emergency space blanket, paracord for lashing together a shelter, extra petroleum jelly smeared cotton balls besides what I carry on my person, and the magnesium fire starter besides the three other fire making methods carried on my person. The water bag has a folding 1 liter water bottle and bottle of purification tablets in addition to the filter bottle or canteen I carry. In the Welfare bag is a pocket first aid kit, half roll of TP, fishing hand line, multi-tool, and snares in addition to whatever firearms I'm carrying. The Way bag has a small flashlight, compass, and map of the area. Knife? yes, two, both always on my person. Overkill? Not when you consider that in the real wilderness where I go there is no such thing as 911. My survival is up to me. If this sounds like it came out of a book, it did. I wrote it.
