Deer Hunting
Has anyone else purchased the 870 super slug or know anyone that has? What kind of groups have shot with it and with what type of ammo? I purchased the 870 super slug because of its pinned barrell to the receiver (like a rifle) because of some of the long range shots that sometimes present themself in the middle of shotgun country. I have shot mine out to 150 yards and been able to shoot decent groups using a leupold 3-9 scope designed for hornady sabots. Seems to be a great set up, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same success. It was very effective on the one doe I shot during early doe season in Michigan, but it was only a hundred yards away.
I herd they recomend the 385 grain Accutip. I pick my sps up in two weeks . But i'll try the hornady 300 grain, winchester 300 grain, and remington 385 accutip. I'd say the 385 grain will be ideal for the 1 in 35 twist. what do think?
I would like to know the accuracy and reliability of this gun also, I am onsidering one for this up coming deer season.
