Hunting
After I have found a large number of geese in an area, I use google maps to locate likely feeding spots. Geese usually sit on the highest points of open fields, and I can find this without taking a step into the elements.

Hey I kinda use this same feature, except I use it to find places elk will likely be traveling. Topo maps are good and all, but to get a birds eye view of how thick the area is and other land features is about priceless.
Google Earth is a free download and provides more infotmation and slightly better picture quality than Google Maps. You can use the tools in it to view different angles and elevations, and travel / fly across the landscape more easily than Google Maps. It also has distance measuring tools.
Finally, use the Lat. / Long. features to get coordinates of the spots you want to scout or hunt for your GPS.
Actually that it what I meant that I used. Thanks for pointing that out Fezzant!
O boy getting technical are we
